Nursing Homes Abuse Blog Featured On 'Ask Mr. Eldercare' Radio Program

New Star Ranking System For Nursing Homes

Restaurants, hotels and soon nursing homes will be rated according to a 'star system.'  By the end of 2008, the government will implement a new rating system which would allow residents and their families access to a centralized nursing home rating system.  According to an Associated Press article on the new rating system, the new system will be based on input from observers, federal and state nursing home inspectors and on staffing levels.  The American Health Care Association, urges the government to base the rating solely on data from nursing home inspections as they believe them to be a...
